Volunteer Service Projects

If your company or organization would like to sponsor an environmentally focused service project for your employee volunteers, the LA Corps can provide the project management expertise to ensure that the proper equipment and materials are used, the highest standard of safety protocols are maintained and that your volunteers have a rewarding and impactful experience. By partnering with the Corps, your project will yield the double benefit of improving the community's environment in addition to providing valuable paid work experience for under-privileged youth. Volunteer projects include:

  • Tree planting: in blighted urban areas, fire-damaged regions, parks and local wildlands, volunteers can help improve air quality, reduce energy use and provide much needed shade by planting trees with the Corps.

  • Hiking trail restoration: volunteers can help clear and restore hiking trails in local parks to make them safer and easier for the community to enjoy.

  • Community gardens: volunteers build planters, plant vegetables and flowers, mulch and remove weeds from community gardens at schools and in neighborhoods throughout the greater Los Angeles area where fresh produce is difficult to find.

  • Conservation: to mitigate and repair damage to the environment, including soil erosion, volunteers can help remove invasive vegetation, restore native plants, provide fuel reduction and build sand bag barriers in areas that have been impacted by fires and floods.

If you would like to develop a specialized volunteer project for your company or organization, please contact Viki Goto at (213) 362-9000 ext. 260 or vgoto@lacorps.org
