“The Corps is willing to help anyone who’s willing to help themselves. You’ve got to want it for yourself. They try to help people get through tough times. It’s a real cool program. I’m glad I joined.”
“When you come to the LA Corps, you’re coming into something bigger than a 9 to 5. It’s about a future, not just work, or a job. When I look back, I wasn’t going anywhere good. I didn’t have any role models in my life to look up to. The Corps has been like a family to me and helped me to mature. Now I feel like I am part of something special.”
“I joined the LA Corps at my lowest point in life. I had no education, no income, and was homeless. Not only did I learn how to independently survive, I earned an education. With life skill training from LA Corps, they helped me have confidence in myself, and I am a better person because of it.”
“What I like about the Corps is it opens a lot of doors. Now I’m going to go to school and get my diploma and maybe I’ll join the painters union that I just learned about.”
“I was a Corpsmember in 2014. Life was hard. Now it’s good. Being in the Corps literally gave me the skills for life. The Corps motivates people to work hard and teaches valuable skills. It saves lives. It changed me profoundly.”
