Watch Our New Video—Support Life-Changing Opportunities for Corpsmembers

Dear Friend of the Corps,

Thank you for helping the LA Conservation Corps create opportunities for young people across Los Angeles. As we approach the end of 2025 and celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we hope you will consider a year-end, tax-deductible donation today.

Each year, more than 500 young people walk through our doors to become Corpsmembers. One of the Corps’ primary goals is to help young people who are out of school and out of work find pathways to opportunity. At the Corps, we meet them where they are and help open the door to a brighter future. Our secret sauce is a powerful combination of paid work, education, and wraparound support. That critical wraparound support is led by our Corpsmember Development Department; an extraordinary team who are committed to ensuring every Corpsmember has the tools, confidence, and support they need to succeed.

Today, we are excited to spotlight two former Corpsmembers. First is Christie Nolasco, now a valued member of our Corpsmember Development Department, where she serves as Case and Transition Coordinator. Christie is a former Corpsmember who earned her high school diploma at the LA Conservation Corps and later returned as a staff member. Because of her own experience, Christie understands the Corpsmember journey firsthand and does everything in her power to help participants get the most out of the program.

Recently, we interviewed Christie and surprised her with a visit from another former Corpsmember, Letty Torres. During her time at the Corps, Letty took full advantage of all the opportunities it offered including her first-ever trip outside of California to Chicago through the AmeriCorps YouthBuild program. It was there that she built a bond with Christie—one that will last a lifetime.

We invite you to take a moment to watch our video featuring Christie and Letty and hear their inspiring stories.

If you would like to help us continue impacting lives like Christie and Letty’s, please consider making a donation today in honor of our 40-year legacy. We invite you to make a year-end, tax-deductible gift of $40, $400, or $4,000 (or whatever amount feels right to you) to support the young people we serve, the neighborhoods we love, and our ongoing wildfire recovery efforts.

We also encourage you to visit our new 40th Anniversary merchandise page, where proceeds support the important work we do every day. Every shirt, hat or mug you buy will help support the work of the Corps.

Thank you for supporting the Corps and the young people of Los Angeles!
